The release follows successful debut track ‘IN2ME’ – which fused and melded genres into a five minute club-ready cut, gaining support from VTSS, Anfisa Letyago and LCY – and is dubbed his “darkest outing yet”.
Across the four tracks, acidic basslines, kitsch (yet punchy) vocals and hefty drum beats are rife.
Each playful, genre-bending and hypnotic, they extend the leftfield club sound which Place is becoming synonymous with.
”’IN2ME’ was the most beautiful record I’ve ever written, but it’s success really freaked me out,” he explains. “So, the only thing that made sense was to throw everything out of the door and go completely evil.”
As an artist, Place is said to be keen on taking “uncompromisingly underground rave to the mainstream” through his boundary skirting of acid, bass, breaks, electro, techno and even pop sounds.
Only a year since the successful debut release, his production output is showing no signs of settling down; the Essex-based artist is poised to share more twisted, melodic and experimental work in the near future.
