Mixmag and Monkey Shoulder are pleased to announce Puthimart Naothaworn is the winner of our Shoulder To Shoulder design competition.
The competition called on budding designers to create a memorable artwork depicting what nightlife means to them, with the winning entrant receiving a £500 cash prize and their artwork now set to be showcased at both of our Shoulder To Shoulder house parties in Leeds and London. Thank you to everyone who entered.
Puthimart Naothaworn is a Thai artist currently based between London and Bangkok. She graduated from Central St Martins in 2022 in Graphic Communication Design, and specialises in illustration, both traditional and digital, drawing from inspirations of her cultural identity and the lively world around her.
Her design is a homage to the colourful characters that make up the nightlife community, illustrating the poses, grins and aesthetics you can find amid the delirium of a dancefloor.
Visuals are a key part of the nightlife experience, from the clothes built into the identity of subcultures to eye-catching flyers and street art covering the walls of creative districts, providing the eye-catching backdrop to the multi-sensory experience of a party.
Our Shoulder To Shoulder campaign with Monkey Shoulder, the 100% malt whisky made for mixing, is rewriting nightlife for the better, providing support for the industry and using feedback from the community to create the perfect night out.
Across our two house parties, we’re pairing star headliners with rising talents to play Shoulder To Shoulder on the same bill, with the line-up also featuring local talents who stand for values such as inclusivity, promoting diversity and charitable causes.
At a challenging time, Shoulder To Shoulder is placing the needs of the people that make nightlife a place of acceptance and inspiration at the forefront, including artists, crowds and grassroots organisations.
