Producer and DJ Frazi.er has announced the opening of his Glasgow-based club, SYMBØL.

The underground venue will be in the heart of the city centre, holding a capacity of 250 with things kicking off next week, December 26.

SYMBØL claims to focus on “delivering a unique music experience for international and local DJs as well as live acts” through its total refurbishment, boasting a newly-installed Funktion One sound system and an immersive light installation.

Whilst the official programme will begin on January 23, its opening party will kick things off on December 26 with Frazi.er, Slam, Outflight and LUNARPLATZ involved. Two days later, the launch party on December 28 will host Somewhen, Aiden, TLØ, E.DN and Sikoti b2b A-05.

“SYMBØL will be an important music hub for the fast growing scene in Scotland. We want to promote a diverse music policy and offer opportunities for upcoming talent,” Frazi.er tells Mixmag. “There hasn’t been any new clubs for over five years, and the huge demand with limited venues is really saturating the music.

“It’s been a huge project for me to take on during a very busy time in my career, but it will be very rewarding. Sharing my experiences from clubs all over the world will hopefully make it valuable for the new generation. Over the last year we’ve seen a huge change in music inspired by the likes of TikTok and Soundcloud; having a small cap basement club will be great for putting a focus back on the talented artists that deserve it!”
