Producer, DJ and label boss Rony Seikaly has launched the final remix package from his debut album ‘Moonwalk’.

The third set of remixes from the record have been hand-selected by Seikaly — with contributions from Joseph Capriati, Bedouin, Davide Squillace and Flashmob.

Previous remixes of the record, dropping in July and August, featured reworks from Matthias Tanzmann, Paco Osuna, Audiojack, Harry Romero, Andrea Oliva & Black Circle, Daví and Fur Coat.

Seikaly told Mixmag: “My relationship with all of [the producers] goes back some time. They are all great colleagues and amazing artists, I greatly admire their production work and I have always followed their careers. Releasing them all through my Stride label has also been very satisfying.”

“This summer, for example, I shared a booth with Bedouin, who invited me to take part in one of their parties at Pacha, and with Joseph, with whom I played at Circoloco. It was wonderful to meet him there.”

Seikaly had contacted all the artists “personally” and given each the option to remix whatever track they were most interested in from the record: “Creatively, I think that the first impulse should not be restricted and for that reason, I preferred that they naturally chose the track that best suits their style.”

When listening back to the remix packages Seikaly says: “There’s been an amazing response to the Moonwalk album and its remixes. Better than I could have ever imagined.”

He adds: “When you produce something with so much love and care, you hope it will be well received, but you always have doubts; definitely the way people have received Moonwalk has been very emotional for me.”

When asked about how these tracks will sound when on the dancefloor he responded: “From the start of this journey that has been Moonwalk, it has been amazing to see how the original tracks worked on the dance floor. Now having the opportunity to play the remixes is continuing that journey and keeping it current.

“It is an honour to have contributions from great artists. I have always found the unique point of view that other creative minds can bring to your work to be something very enriching, Rony says. “It is fantastic to see how songs that I have made with so much love are transformed and enhanced with the contributions of other producers. This was 100% the case with the 11 remixes that have been made of the MOONWALK tracks.”

“Seeing how artists play them is also very satisfying. For example, over the summer and this past weekend, when I played a lot of them in my Burning Man session, it was amazing to see how people absorbed them and really enjoyed them.”
