Mixtress and Pete Cannon have teamed up to create a breakneck new jungle rework of The Streets’ classic 2004 track ‘Blinded By The Lights’.

Blinded By The Lights 23’ takes Mike Skinner’s quintessential prose from the original track and reworks it into an accelerated 160 cut featuring rapidfire breaks and chopped vocals, all produced using an old sampler.

First teased in 2022, the anticipated new track officially landed on September 1 via RCA/Locked On, and has since amounted over 100,000 streams in its first three days.

“This track was made in between digging through Pete’s record collection, chatting breeze and snacking on baked goods from the shop across the road,” says Mixtress on the new track.

“It represents us perfectly: a whimsical and high-energy take on a timeless classic, that gets both the old and new heads feeling nostalgic.”

The music video for ‘Blinded By The Lights 23’ was shot at Harringay Snooker Club in North London, directed by ROYAL EYES. Watch it below.

Speaking on the track ahead of its release, Pete Cannon said: “This Friday, our Streets re-work is released on RCA! Same label as Bowie, Whitney, Britney, Asap Ferg et al through Locked On. A hardcore track made on a bobbins old sampler on a major label, get in.”

In the lead-up to their new track, Mixtress and Pete Cannon have collaborated on a handful of mixes on the likes of BBC Radio 1 Dance, and a b2b at Boomtown Festival.
