I spent a lot of my younger years frequenting Naughty but Nice in Hereford UK. Eagerly anticipating sets from the likes of Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes, Dave Pearce and Fergie. This is where my love for all electronic music began. I just couldn’t get over the euphoric feeling of those long trance breakdowns followed by that huge kick in the chest as the bass thumped back in. To the insanity of a hard house set and the sweat at the end of the night. I was hooked.
But as far as being a DJ went I always thought this was completely out of my reach, it wasn’t until COVID gripped the world almost 20 years later and I started seeing DJs producing live streams that I realised that this could be more than a crazy dream. I could see what went on in the DJ Booth with all the twinkly lights and twisting of knobs. I needed to know how.
I picked up a cheap beginner DJ controller and played around using free youtube lessons not really getting to grips with anything. Then I found Andrew Duffield on youtube with his Club Ready DJ School and signed up on the spot. Here I am several months later and a fellow DJ School member comes up with the mad plan of creating a radio station. Now we have over 60 live DJs a week and an awesome community. Unfortunately, my day job is a cruel mistress and takes up too much of my life to allow me a regular show. But catch me when you can on www.clubreadyradio.com and on my Twitch channel.
