It looks like London’s XOYO is expanding – a new club is set to open its doors this September in Birmingham.

A cryptic poster campaign was launched across the city this week hinting at a new event space from the creators of XOYO, each reading: “All we wanna do is dance”, alongside a QR code that links out to a new XOYO Birmingham website.

The website also features a countdown clock with 51 days remaining, insinuating that the new space will open its doors on Friday, September 15.

Over on the XOYO Birmingham Instagram page, a bio reads: “Coming Autumn 2023. New sister venue to XOYO London”.

The news was seemingly confirmed by XOYO Birmingham’s Instagram page, posting a series of photos explaining that the new venture will “embody the spirit of Birmingham itself”.

“Celebrating international stars, while shining a spotlight on our city’s homegrown talent and an atmosphere of inclusivity,” they explained. “A dancefloor that welcomes everyone.”

Although it’s not yet been revealed who is set to perform at the new venue, they explained that XOYO Birmingham will “embrace incredible homegrown talent in the Midlands.”

“Created by and for the people of Birmingham, this space will serve as a vibrant hub where creativity, music, and community converge.”

XOYO London first opened in 2010, occupying a converted print works space. In the decade since, the venue has led residencies from the likes of Andy C, Goldie, Flava D, Interplanetary Criminal, Heidi, and more.
