Halogenix – real name Laurence Reading – has launched his own label Gemini Gemini, and for its debut release announced four track EP ‘Lost Friends’.

The imprint is set to showcase his broad scope of writing and production abilities through a variety of solo and collaborative projects, with ‘Lost Friends’ focusing on a more soulful, introspective drum ‘n’ bass sound.

Titular track ‘Lost Friends’ is available to listen to now, and holds particular resonance with the artist who incorporates vocals from producer Coop-The-Truth and piano from jazz musician Joel Dawe.

“Written after the tragic passing of my dear friend Ebow Graham in 2020, the title track ‘Lost Friends’ captures for me the sadness and loss that I felt,” Reading explains.

“After leaving Ivy Lab in 2017, starting my own label has always been a goal of mine,” he continues on the new imprint. “I wanted to take the time to re-establish myself as a solo artist and spent the last five years building a solid foundation with Critical Music.

“With Gemini Gemini, I’m excited to take control of my own artistic direction and create a unique identity within the music industry.”

Collaborations are rife throughout Reading’s work, who also teams up with longtime friend Alix Perez on EP track ‘Amé’. Previously, he has worked with names including Goldie, Noisia and dBridge, and picked up appearances at festivals including Glastonbury, Sonar and Exit.
