Courtesy has launched a fundraising campaign, Merch Ltd. Ukraine, which aims to support grassroots organisations in Ukraine.
The Danish artist’s project continues from her previous lottery competitions that have already raised money in support of people affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
For this new addition to her ongoing work, Courtesy is releasing specially commissioned one-off pieces from a range of contemporary artists and creative directors.
The first of the series of Merch Ltd. Ukraine consists of eight one-of-a-kind caps donated by Anna Gunvor, Betty Krag, Camilla Lind, Courtesy, Dima, Dim Ettra, Filip Berg and Katharina Schilling.
These caps will be available to purchase on the Kulør Bandcamp page on Thursday.
Last year, Courtesy offered a private DJ set, her entire vinyl collection and a collaborative art performance at Berghain with Ukrainian performance artists, Dim and DimEttra, who are working as art directors for Merch Ltd.
Announcing the new fundraising series on Instagram, Courtesy explains: “The aim of these fundraisers is not only to collect money supporting Ukraine, but also to raise awareness of the Ukrainian youth that is affected by the war, and make sure they know that they are not forgotten.”
All profits made from the series will be donated to K41 Community Fund, which provides financial, humanitarian and logistical support to the musical and cultural community in Ukraine.
